The objective of network port pricing is to create a non-profit, self-funding system to enable network growth to occur at a rate equal to user driven demand. New building projects will provide funds for basic infrastructure that will satisfy the predicted building occupancy. The building occupants, based on the discrete network port pricing schedule (or bulk pricing where applicable) will fund growth in buildings where network infrastructure exists.
